Specialty Care

Dermatology

Skin, hair, and nail care at Rockwell lives inside your primary care home, not at the end of an outside referral. Your dermatologist and your primary care team share one record and one plan, so the people looking after your skin already know the rest of your health.

Scope of care

What our dermatology care covers

A general look at the skin, hair, and nail concerns our dermatology team helps with. Your primary care provider stays in the loop throughout, and we bring you in for the right evaluation when it is needed.

  1. Skin checks and screening

Routine skin checks and screening guided by your history and risk, coordinated with your primary care visits.

  2. Acne, rosacea, and rashes

Care for acne, rosacea, and rashes, with a plan your primary care team helps carry between visits.

  3. Eczema and other skin conditions

Evaluation and ongoing management of eczema and other long-term skin conditions, to understand what is behind them.

  4. Moles and skin lesions

Assessment of moles and skin lesions, with the right evaluation to look into changes you or your provider notice.

  5. Hair and nail concerns

Support for hair and nail concerns through evaluation, guidance, and steady follow-up alongside your everyday care.

The Rockwell difference

Connected to your primary care

The point of dermatology at Rockwell is not only that it is here. It is that it works with the rest of your care instead of apart from it.

Your dermatologist is a colleague down the hall from your primary care provider, working from the same record toward the same plan.
An in-house referral
When your primary care provider thinks you should see a dermatologist, they connect you to one of ours, not a stranger across the city with a long waiting list.
One record, one plan
Your dermatologist and your primary care team work from the same shared record, so your skin care builds on what they already know about you.
Results that flow back
Findings, notes, and next steps return to your everyday care, so your provider can act on them and nothing falls between visits.

What to expect

How a referral usually works

When your provider may refer you and what tends to follow. Every visit is shaped around you, so the details can vary.

  1. Your provider refers you

During a regular visit, your primary care provider may suggest a dermatology evaluation based on your symptoms, history, or routine results.

  2. You meet your dermatologist

You see one of our dermatologists, who already has your shared record and reviews your skin health with you in plain language.

  3. Your care stays joined up

Any plan is shared back with your primary care team, who help you follow it and keep your overall care moving in one direction.
