Specialty Care

Podiatry

Care for your feet and ankles at Rockwell lives inside your primary care home, not at the end of an outside referral. Your podiatrist and your primary care team share one record and one plan, so the people looking after your feet already know the rest of your health.

Scope of care

What our podiatry care covers

A general look at the foot and ankle concerns our podiatry team helps with. Your primary care provider stays in the loop throughout, and we bring you in for the right evaluation when it is needed.

  1. Routine and diabetic foot care

Routine foot care and diabetic foot care, guided by your history and risk, coordinated with your primary care visits.

  2. Foot and ankle pain or injury

Care for foot and ankle pain or injury, with a plan your primary care team helps carry between visits.

  3. Nail and skin conditions of the feet

Evaluation and management of nail and skin conditions of the feet, to understand what is behind them.

  4. Gait, orthotics, and footwear guidance

Assessment of how you walk, with guidance on orthotics and footwear to support comfort and movement.

  5. Wound care

Attentive wound care for the feet through evaluation, treatment, and steady follow-up alongside your everyday care.

The Rockwell difference

Connected to your primary care

The point of podiatry at Rockwell is not only that it is here. It is that it works with the rest of your care instead of apart from it.

Your podiatrist is a colleague down the hall from your primary care provider, working from the same record toward the same plan.
An in-house referral
When your primary care provider thinks you should see a podiatrist, they connect you to one of ours, not a stranger across the city with a long waiting list.
One record, one plan
Your podiatrist and your primary care team work from the same shared record, so your foot care builds on what they already know about you.
Results that flow back
Findings, notes, and next steps return to your everyday care, so your provider can act on them and nothing falls between visits.

What to expect

How a referral usually works

When your provider may refer you and what tends to follow. Every visit is shaped around you, so the details can vary.

  1. Your provider refers you

During a regular visit, your primary care provider may suggest a podiatry evaluation based on your symptoms, history, or routine results.

  2. You meet your podiatrist

You see one of our podiatrists, who already has your shared record and reviews your foot and ankle health with you in plain language.

  3. Your care stays joined up

Any plan is shared back with your primary care team, who help you follow it and keep your overall care moving in one direction.
